New Ink Drawing - "Stone Rabbit"

New ink abstract-style ink drawing called "Stone Rabbit"...

I started this piece I think nearly 5 years ago and have only just got round to finally finishing it :D

I called it Stone Rabbit because to me it looks like there's the shape of a rabbit encased in stone just left of the middle of the picture...

Happy New Year + Art Updates for 2022

Wishing you a Happy New Year 2022 - I hope your year has gone well so far...

Apologies for not posting any art updates for so long - just wanted to post this quick update to say hi and let you know about some of the new art projects lined up for the year ahead...

Online/Social Media Exhibitions

With all the disruptions and restrictions that have been taking place over the last year or so it's been a bit more difficult to hold exhibitions and events, so what I'm going to try and do during 2022 is post a new piece each week on my social media accounts as an ongoing and ever growing online digital exhibition wall:

I'm not usually that active on social media but this year I've made a New Year's resolution post more regularly especially as I've got a few new styles of paintings and creations that I'd be interested to see what people think of...

It's also been a while since I've held an art give-away so I'm going to be holding another prize draw within the next few weeks which will be open to everyone subscribed to the mailing list.

Live Feed Art Videos

Something I've been meaning to do for a while is a live feed of art pieces as they're being created so that the viewer can see all the steps of a piece being created live and in real-time...

Whenever I go live with a new piece I'll put a notification up on social media or send and email alert to those who've expressed and interest and then the live creation can begin!

If this is something you'd be interested in following then let me know and I'll send you a quick notification to let you know when it's up and running...

New Brush-Wipe Style Acrylic Painting -
"Gale Force"

New brush-wipe style acrylic painting from the new collection of paintings I've been working on...

It's called "Gale Force" and it's an abstract representation of a gale force wind.

It was created using a combination of acrylic paint, emulsion paint and chalk marker pen.

Painting itself measures 21cm x 29cm (approx.) and is framed in a 30cm x 40cm black aluminium frame.

New Acrylic and Posca Pen Painting from the new collection of paintings I've been working on...

It's a 20cm x 20cm "Tile-Style" painting on mdf board of a girl who lost something and then found what she was looking for again.

The painting has a white background and white edges with a carbon black border/frame painted onto the wood.

The painting was created largely using acrylic paint but the outline of the girl was created using a light grey Posca chalk pen.

"White Haze on Electric Blue"

New Brush-Wipe Style painting I finished recently - it's a monochrome-white painting on a metallic-blue background and has quite a Mark Rothko feel to it...

Often with this style of painting I don't use a border but for this particular piece I wanted a bold outline to complement and contrast the hazy nature of the main body of the piece.

This painting is part of a new series of pieces I've been working on since moving to a new studio in Duivendrecht. Most of the paintings in the series have been on wood (including this one) as it's a new medium I'm experimenting with...

I'll be posting more paintings from the new series here on the blog and on my Social Media pages if you'd like to see the new pieces as they're released...
