New Mural at Maccheroni Italian Restaurant Just finished a new mural at Maccheroni Italian restaurant in Amsterdam. The mural measures about 6.5 square metres and is in the main dining/ordering area of the restaurant. Video:
The painting is also clearly visible from outside so I've worked the design around the logo and lettering on the window: The painting has also got spot-lights on it so I've added a specific gloss varnish to make the surface of the painting reflect the light: Interview with the Manager... I've also put together a series of blog posts documenting the progress of the mural if you'd like to see step-by-step how the piece came together: See the Mural in Progress To see the mural in person and to sample some of the delicious pizza and pasta dishes available from the restaurant visit Maccheroni at Wittenburgergracht 143, Amsterdam:
Just finished a new hand-painted, upcycled table called "Turntable Stool". My flatmate found a bunch of abandoned Ikea stools outside the front of the house and brought 3 of them back to be painted: This is the first one of the 3, and there are 2 more in a similar style on the way... I called it "Turntable Stool" because I though it look like the deck of a turntable when you're looking down on it as the record spins (I also thought it looked like a washing machine spinning around too!) The stool is available for sale and can be used either as a functional piece of furniture to either sit or put things on, or as a piece to art to be looked at and appreciated. To purchase this item please get in touch. Price: €120 (+ postage*) (*Free Delivery to all Amsterdam addresses, or come and collect from my studio in Zuid-Oost and get €10 off your next purchase) New Acrylic Painting - "Abstract Haze Painting" This is a new acrylic painting called "Abstract Haze Painting". This is a new style of painting I've been working on, it's a little bit like my brush-wipe style, but it's a bit less etheric and has got more bolder colours and shapes in it... Hope you like it :D ...and in case you were wondering that is meant to be a women in the top right-hand corner! I've put some close-ups of the painting below and the original piece is also available in the online shop. New Acrylic Painting - "Coming Out of the Sludge" This is a new acrylic painting I completed this week. It's called "Coming Out of the Sludge" and it's about cleansing out old patterns and rubbish from the past... The painting started off looking quite pleasant, but about half way through I watched a documentary on Francis Bacon and I think this inspired me to make the painting look slightly less pleasant than how it started off :D I hope you like it! Comments are welcome below... ...and the original piece is currently available in the Online Shop: Purchase Original |
